Long Term Action Is Needed
Do you want to learn more about the vegan diet? You want to do it right, but don’t know where to turn. Well, you have come to the right place.
I am going to talk about this diet. Some people think that a diet is a short term action. Wrong!
It has to be long term. When most people think of diet they think of short term, just until they lose a few unwanted pounds. Thinking this way, you are setting yourself up to fail in any diet.
How To Be Successful
To be successful, you have to think long term. Think lifestyle; not just a short term diet change. Don’t get me wrong, you need to apply changes short term, but they must be continued long term for dramatic and continual benefits.
Some people may ask ‘what is the vegan diet’, and think it is all about eating things that are not animal. That is only part of it.
If you just ate everything that is not animal and not paid attention to the vegan foods you are eating, that could result in you eating a lot of processed junk vegan food. Keep in mind french fries deep-fried in bad oil is considered vegan, but in my book it’s not even food. Your body has no need for it, it can’t rebuild healthy cells with such bad food.
Your Body Rebuilds From The Food You Eat
Did you know that your body is constantly replacing cells? Certain organs and our blood are rebuilt by the food we feed our body. If you eat healthier and continue to do so, you will have a healthier body too. On the other hand if you eat less healthy, your body will be weaker from rebuilding with the unhealthy food you are feeding it.
So remember this when you are eating, ask yourself if this food I am about to eat will benefit my body’s rebuilding process. You want to keep feeding your body healthy food.
Compare it to two builders, and each one building a house side by side. One builder is using inferior supplies to build with. The other is using the best supplies available. Which house do you think will be better made and last longer? Which house would you want to live in?
It should be just as obvious with our bodies.
Best Kinds Of Vegan Food
The best kind of food to eat are the foods that are as close to nature as possible. Stay away from highly processed foods, they are damaging to the body in many ways.
The whole food is what we need, not isolated highly processed pieces of the whole food. The whole food is what your body needs to replace your existing cells with healthier cells to rebuild a stronger healthier you.
Stick with the whole plant foods and you will never go wrong. Your body immediately recognizes it, and knows what to do with it. A body fed this way consistently will always be healthier and stronger.
Try to use the least amount of oil as possible, with no oil being the best. Most package food contains oil. Oil is nothing but concentrated fat, and pretty much nothing else. When I eliminated oil from my diet, I lost weight. A good thing for some people, but I didn’t need to lose weight, so I just ate more. Oil is a lot of calories. It is about 120 calories per Tablespoon. Most people probably consume more than a couple of tablespoons daily. Now that is a lot of calories that really add up.
Cooking without oil takes a little getting used to, but after a while you won’t even miss it.
You can saute onions and mushrooms with just about any liquid, such as water, or vegetable broth. I start sauteing onions and mushrooms without any liquid at first, because they contain water in them. They taste just as good, even better to me because they do not have that greasy taste.
Baking is easily done also, by substituting oil for maybe applesauce, it works great in cakes and pancakes and breads.
Eating whole plant food naturally has enough fats in it for our body. Instead of just eating coconut oil, why not eat the coconut and get the fat along with the fiber and nutrients together, and not just the isolated and concentrated fat. Keep in mind that the isolated oil is very vulnerable and delicate and goes rancid pretty easy. This is not a good thing.
You need some good fat but get it from the whole food, not the oil.
Remember! Don’t think “short term diet”, Think long term lifestyle.
You will succeed with your diet goals, when you are in it for the long run. You need a long term commitment, think vegan lifestyle, not just the vegan diet.
Avoid highly processed food and stick with whole food plant based, and you can’t go wrong.
You can and will be successful with the vegan lifestyle
Take Care and have a wonderful healthy day
